 Yom Omer (Barley Harvest)/ Feast of Weeks, starts the 1st Sunday after Pesach - April 8thFifty days after Yom HaBikkurim, the children of Israel arrived at Mount Sinai and received God's Teaching and Instruction - the Torah. To commemorate this time, we count UP seven Sabbaths plus one day-day by-day - starting at Yom HaBikkurim and culminating with Shavuot. This period of counting the omer is one of great reflection anticipating the time of our great restoration. During this period, we read and meditate on Psalms 119.
